What Christmas Means to Me

I think when you meet people most will say their favorite holiday is Christmas. Rightfully so it is the most magical time of the year. In most places the temperature begins to drop and we all start to spend more time inside. I’m not really into holiday movies but taking that time to relax and spend time with family. My favorite part of the season is the fact that it’s Jesus’ birthday.

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas we spend a lot of time with family. I love that about this time of year, spending time with my family is always so much fun in our family. I know many people have family issues and reasons why they may not want to spend time with family. Thankfully in my family we all really like each other and we all get along really well. I don’t want to paint a picture that we never fight, we do like all families do but we just get over things and move it.

When I get to my parent’s house for Christmas day, I should tell you we don’t have anything planned. We literally sit around watch movies. I know me and my mom have a movie marathon on Christmas day. We take a break when dinner is ready, but then we go right back to the screen. I should tell you we watch all these movies in bed in our pajamas all day and it is the best ever!

I treat Christmas as a big day of sabbath, I know it doesn’t say that in the Bible but I love the Lord and I very much enjoy taking an entire day off to reflect and thing of all the things He did for me. The real meaning of this season is the celebrate the birth of Jesus. It’s not about the gifts or all the amazing food we are going to partake in but Jesus entering in this world to save us of all our sins.

I hope you all have an amazing Christmas. However you decide to spend it weather it’s with family or if you end up working the entire holiday. Just remember the real reason of this season and enjoy it to the fullest.
