Having a baby in a pandemic has its challenges. One of the major challenges we faced was deciding if we were going to have a baby shower. Turns out… I ended up having two over the weekend. Leading up to the past weekend, I really just wanted to ensure people were staying safe and didn’t want anyone to possibly get sick for an event to celebrate us.
It all started on Friday when my job threw me a virtual party. I’ve never been so surprised in my life. I am one of those people who catch on pretty quick and I can honestly say I had no idea what was going on. They even had Frank in the mix. It was so nice, people who have left the job years ago were able to hop on the zoom call and provide well wishes (we have been working from home the past year).
On Saturday, my mom (she came in town last week for baby watch) threw us a drive-by baby shower, and again, we got to see people we haven’t seen in so long with the church being virtual and not having the opportunity to just spend quality time with our friends as we normally would. It was so nice to see people.
Overall, I wanted to share a photo of my outfit as well as pass on some wisdom to those who are on the fence about some of these big events coming up in your life. Just go for it! Make sure you’re being as safe as possible, but make the modifications. It will be so worth it in the end. Besides, you will always look back and remember I had a baby in a pandemic.
I definitely wore the same dress as my maternity shoot dress 🙂
