Hi Friends,
Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a great weekend. Today I am talking hair. It is funny that I don’t talk about hair very much on my blog considering… one of my dreams growing up was to become a hairstylist. I actually do hair on the side and love doing it quite a bit. Same goes with make up, I guess because once I have found a routine that works, I stick with it. Today I am giving you all my schedule (yes, schedule) on how I cleanse my hair.
I like to use three types of cleansers and I use them in “cycles.” Typically, I wash my hair once a week. At the beginning of the “cycle” I cleanse my hair with a traditional shampoo with the matching conditioner. In case you haven’t noticed, I have natural hair and I have learned over the years my hair responds better with less shampoo (it dries it out). The next week I co-wash (conditioner wash) which is when you just use conditioner. This allows me to redo my hair, provide moisture and lightly cleanse. The next week I use a co-wash cleanser and the matching conditioner after two weeks without a shampoo I start to get itchy (lol) so using a “no poo” cleanser allows me to cleanse my hair and scalp without drying it out. The last week in the cycle, I co-wash again, then back to the top. 🙂
Also, in the cycle is the deep condition process. I always try to deep condition when I wash my hair. My goal is twice a month but if we are being honest, I am lucky if I do it once (I am going to do better). I love this deep conditioner and I have been using it for years.
Let me know if you all are interested in seeing more hair post. I would like to share with you the tool and styling products I use too. Would you be interested?
