Life’s Too Short by Abby Jaminez

Abby Jaminez is one of the best romcom writers, and this book didn’t disappoint. Life’s Too Short is about how life can give you lemons but ultimately you have the choice to make the decision to live the life you want, no matter what. That of course includes falling in love and choosing to stay in love.  There were so many curve balls in the storyline I didn’t expect, but I really loved.

Good Boundaries and Goodbyes by Lisa Turkurst

Lisa Turkurst always gives us the truth and a hug all in the same book. I read this book not realizing that I may have a problem with setting boundaries. She gives practical advice on how to stand your ground and stick up for yourself when people (knowing or unknowingly) try to take advantage of your kindness. I highly recommend if you’ve ever felt like people may take advantage of your kindness.

The Villa by Rachel Hawkins

The first thriller of the month. This book is about two best friends who rent a villa in Italy for a vacation to write their next books. Turns out the villa they rented was also the site where a murder that took place decades ago. With dual point of views going from the present to the past. The drama of this book focuses on scandal, reconciliation and murder.  This book left me hanging, I’m not sure what actually, really happened at the end but it was good.

In My Dreams I Hold A Knife by Ashley Winstead

Another thriller for you. Jessica Miller is a beautiful and confident women who returned to her collage campus, but returning to her school brings up old wounds because her best friend was murdered while they were in college. Her group of friends were all affected by this murder, as they are revising what happened this college weekend, they find out there was much more than meets the eye.

The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley

It must have been the month for thrillers for me. This book was crazy, Jess goes to visit her brother only to find that he is missing. As she begins to unravel what happened to her brother, the story takes us on so many twists and turns. This book was such a fun ride. Once we as the reader, figured out what happened my mouth was on the floor.

The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lyn Barnes

This was what I thought was the final book in the Hawthorne series. I’m glad to find out there is book number 4 because this book didn’t really finish the story for me. This series is about a girl who is listed as the sole heir of a fortune to a man she has never met. They go on this while goose chase of the the course of the 3 books to figure out why he left his inheritance to this stranger. Over all the series is really good and I loved all the riddles and games the characters had to solve, it kept me on the edge throughout the entire series.

These are my monthly book recommendations I think you will enjoy this month.

If you are interested here are the books I plan to read for the month of May.
