This weekend a few friends of mine from college, decided to put together a series of events to celebrate a friend of ours who passed away. November 1 five years ago Suave passed away. That was his nickname, he was smooth 🙂 Typically we would get together for dinner or something simple for his birthday. Over the past few years we haven’t gotten together, so we decided to do it big this year.
We started on Friday, for Veteran’s Day. Suave was really enthusiastic about giving back to the community. When we were given the opportunity to hand out flags to the Veterans at the World War Two Memorial, we jumped on the opportunity. We has such a good time, and it was nice to give back.
We had to dress like a park ranger 🙂
On Saturday, we hosted a brunch it was really nice, because some of Suave’s family stopped by and joined us. Spending this time together brought us back to the old times. After college we would have potlucks over Suave’s house, he was big on us getting together on a regular basis. Frank even made shirts for us with a drawing of Suave’s face on them.
Towards the end of the brunch, we all wrote a message on a balloon and let them float to the sky.
We even did the mannequin challenge!!! How did we do?
Here is a iphone pic of most of us from collage. We call ourselves “the fam” I think Suave came up with that name 🙂
Did you all do anything fun over this holiday weeken? I would love to know how you all celebrated Veterans Day.
