Thanks for Stopping By
By the way, my name is Jazmin, I am a simple girl, who loves fashion and all things classic and chic. In 2008, I graduated from Marymount University right outside of Washington DC, with a degree in Fashion Merchandising.
Being human, we have different sides to ourselves, and apart from a love for fashion, I also love reading, Jesus and living an amazing life. I think it’s important to be well rounded, it lets our inner beauty shine on the outside, so that is where the lifestyle portion of this blog comes in.
I love long walks on the beach, don’t take myself or fashion to seriously… I think it should be fun and we should have fun with it. Oh and I do really love long walks on the beach and sunsets!
A Love for Fashion
From a young age I knew I wanted to be apart of the fashion industry, but didn’t know how I would fit in. In my early 20’s I worked for various companies in the fashion industry; coordinating fashion shows, retail management, a stylist at a modeling agency, and a hair stylist.
After a few years of trying to find my place in life, I settled down went to Graduate School for Communications and got a 9-5 job.
My Creative Outlet
After beginning my full time job, I quickly realized I needed a creative outlet to allow me to showcase my love for fashion, which led me to My Purple Scarf Blog. My Purple Scarf allows me to have a single location where I am able to share fashion finds, tricks, and styles I am loving.
The Capsule Wardrobe
When the world slowed down in 2020, I began shopping for a few really good lounge sets. I didn’t know how many I would actually need so I only ordered a few. Turns out I love a two piec set and I was happy to wake up in the morning and put on anther lounge set.
After my wardrobe got even smaller when I became pregnant. I again found myself happy to be reaching for my favorite items that fit and made me feel good. That’s when it clicked. A capsule wardrobe may be for me. After doing the research and discovering what a capsule wardrobe is not I was all in.
